PRIVACY & CONTACTS
Your contacts. Your choices.
How the current app handles contact matching and school verification, and how to ask about your data. Read the full Privacy Policy for the complete terms.

Previously uploaded contacts
Earlier app versions uploaded contact names and phone-number hashes, including information about people without Peek accounts. The current on-device approach does not mean all earlier uploads have already been erased.
Updating Peek or turning off contact permission does not, by itself, delete previously uploaded information. Earlier versions may also use different contact flows during the transition. Use the latest app and contact support about removal.
Retention depends on the type of information. Account records, earlier contact uploads, verification records, and backups have separate purposes and retention rules; they do not all expire together.
Ask to remove your information
You do not need a Peek account. Email contact@dyvestudios.com to request removal of previously uploaded contact information or ask about data linked to your number. Include the number concerned and a short explanation; support may need to verify the request.
Changing a phone permission, deleting contact information, deleting an account, and cancelling a subscription are separate actions. Ask support which records your request covers and what retention requirements remain.
Email a privacy requestSchool selection is not verification
In the current app, selecting a school alone does not unlock school polls or the school friend list. These features require verification through an approved school email address or a student ID where that option is supported.
Email verification confirms access to an accepted school email account. Student ID verification checks submitted school evidence. Neither is a blanket guarantee of someone’s age or identity. Grade is self-reported.
Student ID photos and verification records
Where supported, student ID verification uses submitted school evidence to check school affiliation.
The photo is checked by an automated reviewer (Google Gemini) and may be stored encrypted for up to 14 days for review, after which it is deleted. Peek keeps the result of the review, not the photo. Read the Privacy Policy for the current terms, or contact us with a privacy question.
Read the school verification policyInvitations and texts
Choosing a friend in a poll never sends a text by itself. A member can send an invitation from their own phone, or directly ask Peek to send one. A text sent by Peek comes from Peek’s own number, names the member who asked, and can be stopped by replying STOP. Peek does not send marketing or notification texts; the only other texts Peek sends are one-time sign-in codes.
Receiving a Peek link does not create an account. A Pick for someone who has not joined is kept for up to 30 days together with an encrypted reference to that contact, and delivered only if that person joins and verifies their phone number. Otherwise it expires and the reference is removed.
How a Pick reaches someone who joins laterDeleting an account
Delete your account in the app under Settings. The account is deactivated right away and permanently deleted after 5 days. Signing in during those 5 days restores it.
After deletion, Peek keeps anonymized usage statistics for 120 days and a scrambled phone fingerprint for one year to prevent reward abuse. Neither can be used to contact you.
